The Village at Rockville Ranks Second in Montgomery County and Fourth in the State of Maryland

December 11, 2017

Rockville, MD- The Village at Rockville—A National Lutheran Community ranks number four in the state of Maryland out of 203 senior care providers, and number two out of 33 providers in Montgomery County.

“We are incredibly proud to be listed as fourth in the State of Maryland and second in Montgomery County,” Executive Director Jason Gottschalk said. “We are thrilled to have accomplished this again in 2017 and grateful to receive this recognition.”

According to the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s (DHMH) Office of Health Care Quality, the Pay for Performance (P4P) rankings assesses several criteria. These criteria include surveys, staffing levels, and quality metrics, weighted as a percentage of the P4P overall composite score.

The Maryland Health Care Commission Family Satisfaction Survey comprises 40 percent, along with staffing levels and staff stability accounting for another 40 percent; Minimum Data Set (MDS) Quality Indicators are 16 percent and employing an infection control professional and staff immunizations account for two percent each.

The P4P program was created from the Maryland Senate Bill 101 in 2007 that authorized DHMH to initiate assessments on certain continuing care retirement communities and facilities in Maryland, based on non-Medicare patient days of service, in order to provide reimbursement cuts to those communities/facilities in the Medicaid program.
