Fall in love with Viva Verdi
Join The Village at Rockville—A National Lutheran Community for an exclusive four part virtual event series during which you will explore the work of the man regarded as one of the greatest Italian composers of all time – Giuseppe Verdi. This virtual program, offered by our community partner, Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at John Hopkins University, will share Verdi’s work through excerpts from his youthful masterpieces through enduring favorites of his older years as he won over the world with a lifetime of musical triumphs. The series is complimentary for the first 50 registrants (and $15 per session, per person once we’ve filled those spots). We invite you to join us and fall in love with Verdi’s work as we have.
Each online course will take place from 10 a.m. – Noon via Zoom on the following dates:
November 11 – “Nabucco and Macbeth”
November 18 – “Rigoletto and II Trovatore”
November 25 – “La Traviata and Aida”
December 2 – “Othello and Falstaff”
Register by November 6 or as soon as possible for each course.

About the presenter
Osher at Johns Hopkins University faculty member, Saul Lilienstein MS, was for many years artistic director and conductor of Maryland’s Harford Opera Theatre and then of Operetta Renaissance in Baltimore. He has now completed over 90 highly acclaimed commentaries on CD for The Washington National Opera, analyzing the repertoire in the most extensive series of its kind in the English language. His essays on music have appeared in newspapers throughout the country, in journals, and in anthologies.
