Our Path Forward at The Village at Rockville
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, National Lutheran Communities & Services and The Village at Rockville have been committed to following the most advanced best practices in health and safety protocols to protect our residents, clients and team members. Currently, COVID-19 vaccines are required for all team members, with proof of vaccination required prior to employment. NLCS has a process for applicants who have been offered a position to request an exemption or deferral for medical or religious reasons.
Current Health Center Visitation Guidelines (as of March 1, 2023)
As a reminder for residents, team members and visitors, we are following requirements from the Maryland Department of Health as well as federal and local regulatory bodies regarding COVID and infection control guidance.
Health Center visitation guidelines:
- IMPORTANT: Visitors should NOT visit when ill. Continually monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19. If any signs or symptoms occur such as coughing, fever, difficulty breathing, muscle pain, diarrhea, vomiting, headaches, loss of smell/taste, contact your primary care physician for next steps and inform our front desk staff by calling 301.424.4650.
- Visitors will be screened upon entry to the building. This includes a questionnaire and signs or symptoms of respiratory illness or a fever. If there is a sign or symptom or concerns with questionnaire answers, the visitor will not be allowed to enter.
- After the screening, each visitor must conduct proper hand hygiene and wear a facility provided mask. You should only touch the mask by the ear loops or strings.
- Masks must be worn during the entire visit regardless of vaccine status or location in the building. Visitors should perform hand hygiene frequently throughout the visit and limit interactions with others in the community.
- The visitor is restricted to visiting in the resident’s room and should limit the touching of surfaces. We ask visitors not to visit other residents or stand/sit in common areas.
- Please follow all posted information and directions given during your visit. Adhere to signs posted outside rooms at all times.
- For visitors who have had close contact with someone with COVID-19, it is safest to defer non-urgent in-person visitation until 10 days after their close contact.
- Visitors are no longer required to be tested for COVID-19. We encourage all visitors to be tested on their own before coming to our community.
- If any visitor is unable to follow the infection control protocols, they will not be allowed to continue their visit. Visitors younger than 2 years old are discouraged from visiting.
Thank you for your continued support of our efforts to keep our residents, staff, and visitors safe.
