Path Forward

Our Path Forward at The Village at Rockville

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, National Lutheran Communities & Services and The Village at Rockville have been committed to following the most advanced best practices in health and safety protocols to protect our residents, clients and team members. Currently, COVID-19 vaccines are required for all team members, with proof of vaccination required prior to employment. NLCS has a process for applicants who have been offered a position to request an exemption or deferral for medical or religious reasons.

Current Health Center Visitation Guidelines (as of August 5, 2022)

As a reminder for residents, team members and visitors, we are following requirements from the Maryland Department of Health as well as federal and local regulatory bodies regarding COVID and infection control guidance. A reminder of our current visitation guidelines are listed below, but the most important message to share with you is the change of self-testing availability at The Village at Rockville.

Effective immediately, self-testing at The Village at Rockville is no longer available, due the lack of our single-test supply availability. Guests can participate in our visitor testing offered three times weekly by our team, or they can bring proof of a negative COVID-19 test with them to their visit. Please see our updated information below regarding Health Center visitation guidelines:

  • When Montgomery County is in a high (red) level of COVID-19 transmission (refer to CDC COVID-19 Integrated County View Site), all visitors, regardless of vaccination status, are asked to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test obtained within 72 hours of entry into the Health Center.
    • Visitor testing is also available three times a week, administered by our team:

Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9-10:30 a.m. and 3-4:30 p.m.

  • For those who cannot make these testing time, you are asked to test at your local pharmacy and bring in proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of your visit.
  • Visitors who test positive may not enter the facility. All visitors shall wear a mask (no cloth masks allowed) at all times in the Health Center building.
  • If you have recently tested positive for COVID-19, visitors may not visit for a minimum of ten days from the positive test date, as long as they are no longer exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19.
  • Visitors need to show proof of negative test to the concierge EACH time they come for a visit.
  • Upon each entry to the Health Center:
    • Visitors must complete the COVID-19 screening, including proof of a negative test taken with 72 hours
    • Perform hand hygiene (alcohol-based hand sanitizer acceptable)
    • Put on a fresh mask provided at the front desk of the Health Center.
  • Any visitor who cannot follow masking and social distancing requirements will not be allowed to visit.
