National Lutheran Awards $263,000 in Grants for 2018

December 6, 2017

Rockville, MD- National Lutheran Communities & Services’ (NLCS) Community Impact Council awarded 33 grants for the 2018 grant year, totaling $263,000. This marks the fifth year of the grant program, with an increase in amounts requested, number of grant recipients and awarded funds throughout Maryland, Virginia, District of Columbia, and Delaware. Last year, NLCS awarded $253,500 and 30 grants.

“The Community Impact Advisory Council was pleased to see so many high-quality proposals for 2018 addressing the most urgent needs of seniors who are aging in place,” NLCS’ Chief Philanthropy Officer Kathryn Baerwald said. “We are honored to partner with so many fine organizations that have a passion for serving area seniors.”

These grants enhance NLCS’ commitment to the greater community through working collaboratively with other organizations and continued efforts to enrich the lives of seniors.
