TVAR Team Member Spotlight - Kim Wright

by Patricia Crew

When it comes to popularity at TVAR, I’d say that Kimberly Wright and Oscar Tenley are tied neck and neck at the finish line! (Oscar is the beloved canine companion of Judy and George Tenley.)

Kim has a big job as TVAR’s accounts receivable billing specialist for all independent living and assisted living residents. She is responsible for posting all charges related to monthly fees, dining, facilities use, ConnectedLiving events, fitness services, philanthropy, and more. What a huge responsibility!

“I’m from a long line of independent, hard-working, self-taught, and family-oriented folks,” Kim explained. “I am who I am because of my grandparents.” In fact, when Kim was a young woman, her grandmother Martha was employed at Kiplinger Finance Magazine. Martha and her friends trained Kim in “cashiering,” now known as accounts receivable, stressing the value of precision, conciseness, and dedication to detail.

Kim finds working at TVAR akin to her own life with her older relatives. She enjoys the wisdom, life experiences, and story-telling she experiences with residents. Kim is resourceful and uses her problem-solving skills on a daily basis. “Residents often ask me questions and if I don’t know the answer, I can be counted on to find it. I just like being a helper.”

When not at work, Kim enjoys a peaceful life in Thurmont, Maryland. She and her husband enjoy the company of a cat, Louie, two chickens, Lucy and Ethel, and a turkey. We are truly blessed to have Kimberly Wright keeping our accounts in good order.
